Build strength, coping skills, and confidence

Our Social Work program offers short-term counselling services to guide adults with developmental disabilities during difficult times. We work collaboratively with adults to support emotional well-being, coping, and goal setting. We also provide family and caregivers with counselling to support them in caring for their adult family member with a developmental disability.

Common concerns we support

  • Low mood
  • Anxiety
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Stress
  • Living with a disability
  • Challenges as a caregiver

Who we support

This service is for adults with developmental disabilities, such as autism, FASD, cerebral palsy, mental health disorders, complex physical or mental health issues, and undiagnosed developmental disorders. With client consent, we can include caregivers and family members in this process.

What to expect

Inquire

Once you inquire, we’ll confirm your referral and eligibility. We’ll then be in touch to start the registration process and connect you with a Social Worker.

Scheduled Appointments

You’ll book scheduled appointments with your Social Worker. They’ll provide individual counselling based on the client’s needs. They may also offer family and caregiver counselling focused on issues such as anxiety, grief, stress and relationships.

Clients must be 18 years of age or older and registered with Developmental Services Ontario Toronto Region.
